Our Pastoral Council gathered for a strategic planning and visioning day, and I want to share some highlights with you. We began by reflecting honestly on where we are as a parish. On the positive side, there is much to be grateful for: the strength of our people and community, our youth and family life, and the depth of our worship and sacramental life. At the same time, we named real challenges: leadership stability, siloed groups, financial concerns, building and facility needs, and communication gaps that leave too many parishioners unsure of what is happening in the parish. From that honest starting point, we turned our attention to vision. The core conviction driving our work is simple: if we don't have a shared vision, we will lose our way. We want our schools, our churches, and our many ministries all moving in the same direction, with a clear sense of who we are as St. Jane Parish and who we are trying to reach. Our goals are organized around three time horizons. Looking ten years out, we envision well-maintained church buildings and schools, a consolidated catechetical and parish facility, four renewed and beautiful worship spaces, and three healthy schools. At the three-year mark (end of 2029), we hope to have a growing outreach ministry, a completed facilities maintenance plan, readiness to launch a capital campaign, and daily Eucharistic adoration. Within one year (by June 2027), we are working toward 90% parish registration, a campus facilities plan, active small groups across the parish, and a decision on a possible partnership with St. Vincent de Paul. Spiritually, we feel called to increase Mass attendance, establish perpetual adoration, and build robust small group opportunities for parishioners who want to go deeper. On the outreach side, we recognize a need for more coordination and cultivation of volunteers. We are currently in the first phase of this process: gathering input, surfacing ideas (both promising and challenging), and laying the groundwork. A second phase will involve sharing a draft vision more broadly with the parish, including an opportunity for parishioners to ask questions and offer feedback. The third phase will be the final presentation of our plans, including engaging our capital campaign partner.
